Congratulations Elise!

Elise Stephens, who frequents our every-other-Sunday critique groups at Wayward Coffeehouse, has won first place in the Year 35 Quarter 3 Writers of the Future contest!

Check out her celebratory blog post and look for the upcoming WotF anthology, which will be out before next April and will contain her winning story. We can’t tell you anything about the story yet–Elise is still in the running for the grand prize!

(Good luck, Elise!)

The Jack of Ruin by Stephen Merlino Is Out Now!

Our very own Stephen Merlino has released his second novel, The Jack of Ruin, which continues his Unseen Moon series of high fantasy stories. The short story that won him a Writers of the Future award in January 2016 is set in this same universe, the first book is pretty bomb, and you can buy this one here for Kindle and in paperback.

Congratulations, Diana!

Diana Hart finished the final requirements for the Wayfarer Writing Certification in October, and we’re proud to award her the first official Wayfarer Writing Certification!

Diana has been a member of North Seattle Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers for years, and recently won 2nd Place in the Writers of the Future contest. We’re excited to see her first novel completed soon because we love were-bears, the American South, and people who saw the original Star Wars trilogy in theater two dozen times. Check out her website at Visions of Aeona and keep your eyes peeled for more of her published work.
